Press Release Vancouver

The Lebanese Film Festival in Canada in Vancouver, Toronto, and Halifax

(Montreal, Quebec – August 18, 2022) Following the huge success of the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada (LFFC) in Montreal and Ottawa, the team will next be in Vancouver, September 23-26, Toronto, October 28-November 01, and Halifax, November 4-8.

The Lebanese Film Festival in Canada is becoming a very popular national and international festival, and we are very excited to bring it to Vancouver for the first time,” says Hay-Love Hadchiti, founder and director of the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada.  “After the incredible success of the Montreal and Ottawa events, returning to Toronto and Halifax is equally exciting, with many new features,” continued Hadchiti.

More than 20 featured, documentaries and short films will be screened at the festival and the red-carpet event will take place on Saturday September 24 in Vancouver, on Saturday October 29 in Toronto and Saturday November 5 in Halifax. The opening nights in each city are centered around the premiere of the latest Lebanese film production.

Government officials and councillors from each city will attend the screening in person, along with many of the high-profile attendees from the movie industry.

The festival is committed to bringing quality productions to its visitors and attendees with new films, new guests and film launches in different cities. As part of the vision and mission of LFFC, the festival is pleased to announce a new cultural partnership with Vancouver’s SFU Woodwards.  The shared passion for cross-cultural, educational and engaging conversations through art has brought both teams together and will be the hallmark of this collaboration.

Organized by New Dimension, programmed by Beirut Film Society and in partnership with UTG Digital Media, the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada aims to strengthen the ties between Lebanese and Arab Canadians and their cultural roots through film. LFFC screens Lebanese, Arab and international films, or films produced by Lebanese and Arab Canadians, on various themes and topics of interest to the Arab diaspora in Canada.
