Cedar in the name of the "Lebanese Cinema in Canada" Festival in the Shouf Reserve

In the presence of Minister of Information Ziad Makary, Lebanon's Ambassador to Canada Fadi Ziadeh, and the festival's organizers, the cedar was planted as a gesture of appreciation for the role of Lebanese cinema that continues despite all the difficulties.

Before the Covid crisis, cinema used to produce 15 films annually, which decreased to 4 after the crisis, and the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada continues to spread these films around the world and build a cultural bridge between Canada and Lebanon in support of Lebanese cinema. 

A number of actors, directors, and producers participated in the celebration, who got to know together the largest reserve in Lebanon, which was the slogan of the festival for the year 2024

Lebanese Film Festival in Canada: Human Messages for Living Together

Under the slogan "Living Together Through the Seventh Art" and in the heart of Canada, a red carpet for Lebanese films is being rolled out as part of a project that began eight years ago entitled "Lebanese Film Festival in Canada". It is now landing first in Montreal and will move to the other Canadian provinces successively, carrying with it 7 feature films, 2 documentaries and 21 short films, accompanied by workshops, seminars and meetings with prominent names in the film industry, and with a tribute to the artists Badih Abi Chakra, Rita Hayek and Canadian Maxime Roy. Its mission is defined as "drawing attention to Lebanese cinema and films and raising their status, with the aim of celebrating them and contributing to their development in Lebanon and around the world", and through its vision that "the history and spirit of the nation are reflected in its culture through art. One of these art forms is storytelling through film, which opens the door to artistic exchange, mutual cooperation and understanding".

The Lebanese Film Festival in Canada is in full swing in Montreal

The eighth edition of the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada (FFLC) kicked off last Saturday at the Henry Foss Pavilion at Concordia University in Montreal, with the film Hardabasht by Mohammad Dayekh.

The festival continues until June 6 with the screening of 9 feature films, including 2 documentaries, and 22 short films, including 14 documentaries.

From the campus of Concordia University, in downtown Montreal, the activities of the “Lebanese Film Festival in Canada” kicked off on Saturday evening, June 1, under the patronage of the Consul General of Lebanon, Antoine Eid, and in the presence of the festival’s director and founder, Hi Love Hadchiti, the festival’s director of business development and legal affairs, Patricia Chamoun, and the festival’s co-founder and programming director, Sam Lahoud, in addition to the presence of a large number of artistic, media and cultural figures from Lebanon, the Arab world and of Canadian origin.
