Synopsis:Living with a Piece of Furniture is an immersive performance blending theater, animation, and family memory. Through a dual narrative structure, Nicolas pays tribute to his late grandfather.
On the left side of the stage, the poetic shadow of his grandfather once an artist comes back to life through animated 2D mapping projected onto his beloved sofa, symbolizing a fading presence within the home he once inhabited.
On the right, a comedic and satirical tale unfolds: Nicolas’ 95-year-old grandmother embarks on an unlikely campaign to become president of the Immaculate Conception Sisterhood in their native village.
Between village gossip, emotional legacy, and absurd humor, the audience is drawn into a rich family tapestry.
The performance ends in a recreated living room on stage, where spectators are invited to explore photo albums, letters, and memories and share a homemade tabbouleh salad.
