Lebanese Film Festival in Canada: Human Messages for Living Together

Under the slogan “Living Together Through the Seventh Art” and in the heart of Canada, a red carpet for Lebanese films is being rolled out as part of a project that began eight years ago entitled “Lebanese Film Festival in Canada”. It is now landing first in Montreal and will move to the other Canadian provinces successively, carrying with it 7 feature films, 2 documentaries and 21 short films, accompanied by workshops, seminars and meetings with prominent names in the film industry, and with a tribute to the artists Badih Abi Chakra, Rita Hayek and Canadian Maxime Roy. Its mission is defined as “drawing attention to Lebanese cinema and films and raising their status, with the aim of celebrating them and contributing to their development in Lebanon and around the world”, and through its vision that “the history and spirit of the nation are reflected in its culture through art. One of these art forms is storytelling through film, which opens the door to artistic exchange, mutual cooperation and understanding”.
