Welcome to the 9th Edition of the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada!

It fills me with joy and deep gratitude to welcome you to this year’s edition of the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada. It’s hard to believe we are now just one year away from our 10th anniversary. Nine years ago, this journey began as a dream. Today, it continues to grow, evolve, and bring people together through the powerful lens of cinema.

This year, our theme is one that touches the soul: Through cinema, we relive our challenging past to reimagine a brighter future.

As we mark the 50th anniversary of the Lebanese war, we take a moment to reflect, not only on the hardship and pain, but also on the strength, resilience, and beauty of a people who have never stopped rebuilding, hoping, and creating. With two deeply moving film screenings and a series of thoughtful events, we invite you to look back with us, not to stay in the past, but to learn from it, grow from it, and imagine a better tomorrow.

Every year brings something new, and this edition is no exception. We’re proud to introduce fresh programming, bold artistic voices, and memorable experiences. We’re also honored to welcome special guests from Lebanon, the United States, and Canada. Their presence and insight bring even more depth and meaning to what we share together.

None of this would be possible without the support of our incredible team, the many passionate individuals who give their time and energy, and our generous partners. From cultural organizations to universities and film festivals across Canada and beyond, their commitment keeps this vision alive.

At LFFC, we believe cinema has the power to connect us, to heal us, and to remind us of the stories that shape who we are. This festival isn’t just about films. It’s about community, identity, and celebration. It’s about Lebanon, yes, but it’s also about all of us, coming together through the universal language of art.
